Wow, this could be such a good game, but it has some distinct issues. I’m actually pretty disappointed after playing it though. I really want to recommend this to the team I coach, but there’s no way given what I’ve seen so far.

The button layout is TERRIBLE compared to the previous version.

-On offense, move the dodges back to the buttons. You already have the roll there but the others are awkwardly engaged by the right stick (contributing to an uneven control feel, which seems to be the norm for this whole control scheme).

-The stick fake button feels “lost” where its located. Think about it this way. The left hand for the most part controls your feet…sprint and move are controlled with your left hand… Why would you make LB the stick fake. At the very least swap stick fake with “square up”. Ultimately though stick fake should be on the right control stick.

The right control stick should ONLY control shots/fakes. Dodges here make it feel much more awkward than the previous game. I dodge when i want to shoot and shoot when i want to dodge.

Consider making down on the right stick do the stick fake. Have up do an overhand shot, and left/right areas be the sidearm/underhand. When I feed the crease I want KNOW i’m going to do an overhand shot, not some wacky sidearm that goes waaaaayy wide.

Like i said, the controls just feel “uneven” and unintuitive for lack of better terms.

Okay, some other problems/bugs I see.

Offball cutters is a GREAT IDEA, if only it worked. I hit the button for offball cut, and sometimes they move, other times they take a step like they want to cut then go back. This especially happens when i’m working from behind the net. I want to feed a cutting middie, but no one moves. Good thought, terrible implementation.

Is there a 30 second clock for clearing? I had some weird issue where the computer passed the ball back and forth between 4 of them in the space between the defending restraining box and midline. CLearly this is a bug, as i just sat there and watched them do this for almost a minute.

Some camera angles look the same, despite having different names. I want something like “field” or “action”(which are the same somehow) but a bit further back but not as far as overhead. When you’re standing at X behind the net, you can’t see anyone in front of the net.

The poke check sometimes does a wrap check animation. Also I thought I saw something that looked like an “over the head” check” but it’s possible it was just a wrap check at a weird angle.. which brings me to…

No documentation, I can’t figure out some of the cool things you’ve hidden in this game without instructions(like the dive shot).

Oh, one last thing… add a useful training mode. The passing one would be great for “practicing” if it wasn’t timed. Maybe add some dummy defenders. It would be a perfect place to practice set offenses.

Why is every stick check a one handed check?

Also i dont like the defensive button placement.

This game is gnarley. I will be extremely surprised if EA doesn’t try to pick you guys up. @JustMe – I do agree with the clearing clock idea but i have to disagree on the controls. i think they are great it feels like NHL which is perfect.thing I

I ony saw a few bugs, mostly when the ball is on the ground (faceoff and GB’s) every once in a while no one can pick up the ball. its rare though.

******The only I would add would be an option in multiplayer to make a 1v1 match because a lot of people will wait in lobbies until extra players leave so they can play 1v1 wich really holds up matchmaking*******

this needs to be on ps3 as well

the net doesn’t even move when a shot scores.

Can you explain to me what do the plays do. For example circle,tight,wide, 1-4-1, 2-3-1, and how to win face offs?

the “plays” are called formations and 1-4-1 is on person behind goal 4 in the middle and one at the top so bottom is called “X” X-Middle-Top i am also trying to figure out the “dive” shot. best way to win a F-O is going up and running at the same time the fastest person to press up on Right analog stick will make the ball go they way they chose…… up down right left.
